We are seeking a Research Associate to assist in the development of a new award scheme to optimise the physical activity and dietary provision in after-school programmes delivered at primary schools.
The new award scheme is informed by many previous studies conducted by staff in the Centre for Exercise Nutrition & Health Sciences, School for Policy Studies. The Research Associate will help to translate that work into an award scheme that can optimise after-school provision for local dissemination.
You should have previous research experience of working in a primary school or nutrition or sport coaching setting with children and young people; experience of conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research; understanding of psychological processes of behavioural change; and excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. A post-graduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. physical activity, nutrition, public health, health promotion, education, social research methods is essential.
The post is part time (0.6 FTE/ 21 hours per week) and fixed term for 9 months from 1 April 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
