Bursaries Available for 2018/19

Warwick Q-Step Centre at the University of Warwick offer three Quantitative Methods postgraduate degree programmes:

MA Politics, Big Data and Quantitative Methods
MSc Big Data and Digital Futures
MSc Quantitative Social Research
A small number of bursaries are available for 2018/19 entry (one per degree programme) each worth £15,000 maintenance plus full tuition fees. The bursaries are available full-time over one year only and successful candidates must be able to prove their Home/EU status. Candidates must also be holding an offer for one of the above degree programmes in order to be considered for a bursary.

Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of excellent academic performance and an outstanding case for support. Further information on the application process can be found on the website: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/q-step/study/postgraduate/qstepbursaries/firstround2018/

The quantitative methods degree programmes are offered in conjunction with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Department of Sociology and the Department of Politics and International Studies.

In contrast to many big data focused degrees (e.g. Data Science or Data Analytics) where the emphasis ends up being almost exclusively on data practices and computational tools, these degrees provide key skills in a range of theoretical approaches and practice-based skills. Each of the three degree programmes will provide students with the skills to critically engage with big data theoretically, methodologically and practically, across a range of disciplines in the social sciences.

Students will also receive cutting-edge training in advanced quantitative methods, data management and data analysis, giving them a competitive advantage in today’s global job market.

Deadline

Candidates must apply to the university and have paid their application fees by 15 June 2018.

Candidates must apply for the bursary no later than 29 June 2018.
