The Joint Research and Evidence Platform is a cross Wales University Research Evidence and Advice Unit which will act as a new and innovative pathway  for interfacing and communicating environmental research needs and evidence between NRW (National Resources Wales), WG (Welsh Government), CEH (Centre for Ecology & Hydrology) and the Welsh HEI’s (Higher Education Institutions) Research Community.  The platform is funded by its consortium members (including all HEIs in Wales, the Welsh Government and CEH, and it is intended that the Platform will run- subject to annual review for an initial period of three years from April 2018 – March 2021 and thereafter be reviewed by the steering group. 

The post holder will be responsible for developing the Platform involving NRW, WG, CEH and Welsh HEI’s and in managing and developing interactions within the research- policy interface.  The post holder will establish and maintain professional working relationships with an expanding variety of stakeholders, developing mutually beneficial relationships in line with the Platforms strategy and will identify and enable activities which will further the objectives of the Platforms strategic direction.
The first stage of achieving this purpose will be accomplished by undertaking the following activities: 

Nominating participants to convene the first meetings of the Platform and create an effective office for the platform located in the NRW facilities
Contributing to the creation of an ongoing work plan and series of activities for the platform on an annual basis
Contributing to and agreeing a strategy and plan for the Platform for the period April 2018- March 2021
The post will be based within NRW Offices (ADD ADDRESS) but will be administered and managed  by Cardiff University and other HEI’s. The post will initially be for a 12 month period, reviewed on an annual basis by the Platform Board members.  The post holder will be accountable to its Platform Board members

The post is full time (35 hours per week) and is fixed term for a duration of 3 years.
